Plastic surgery prices in Paris 2026: the complete guide
Considering a plastic surgery procedure is a deeply engaging decision, but also a potentially significant financial investment. In Paris, and particularly in the 17th arrondissement around the Arc de Triomphe, the local offering is generally positioned at the high end of the market. That said, the sheer abundance of options and the variety of procedures available in the capital can lead to a certain inconsistency in the prices charged.

Why do prices vary so much from one surgeon to another?
Several factors come into play when you look at the price lists offered by the various specialist practices:
- the surgeons’ reputation and expertise: a practitioner’s experience, the technique they use (particularly mini-invasive methods), their level of training and their seniority in the field are all markers of a perfect mastery of the procedure and of natural, harmonious results. They can therefore justify higher fees. At the Rive Droite Paris Étoile aesthetic clinic (CERDPE), Dr Hunsinger (holder of a DESC and president of the Centre chirurgical des Princes in the 92) as well as Dr Derhy and Dr Privé hold a specialist qualification in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery and have always strived to offer a measured, restrained approach for a natural, French-style result;
- the type of procedure and its level of complexity: not every procedure involves the same operating time, the same recovery and the same level of expertise. A revision procedure (secondary surgery), for example, can prove more complex to carry out than a primary surgery and therefore justify higher prices;
- the length of hospital stay: some procedures require several days in hospital with regular care (abdominoplasty, bodylift, buttock lipofilling…) whereas others are performed as outpatient procedures with discharge from the clinic the same evening (rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty…). These are all potential additional costs for the former;
- location and overhead costs: some procedures require more equipment and/or staff than others (implants, nurses, anaesthetist, etc.), which changes the total cost of the operation. Practices located in major cities (and Paris in particular) also come with mechanically higher overhead costs (linked notably to rents and to the higher fees of the practitioners).
In every case, prices that are too low should make you question the seriousness of the practice. Whatever happens, always ask for a detailed quote, which must be provided following a thorough medical consultation.
Breast surgery can take different forms depending on the patient’s anatomy and expectations (breast augmentation with implants or with lipofilling, breast reduction, breast lift, breast reconstruction, etc.). Prices can then vary quite significantly depending on the goal (augmentation, reduction, reconstructive surgery), the technique (with implants, with fat transfer, composite) or the possibilities for insurance coverage (following an ALD long-term condition, for example).
Below are various indicative price ranges for the breast surgery procedures performed at the Rive Droite Paris Étoile clinic. Don’t hesitate to ask Dr Hunsinger or Dr Derhy for a personalised quote to find out which procedures are possible. They will guide you towards the solutions suited to your anatomy and can also support you in your dealings with the CPAM to submit a prior-agreement request.

The face is the part of the body that is visible in all circumstances. It therefore calls for subtle techniques to achieve discreet rejuvenation and to restore the oval shape of the face without producing an unnatural, unflattering frozen look. Facial surgery can also be used to correct a physical flaw that is disabling in daily life, whether genetic or circumstantial (protruding ears, deviated nose, pronounced prognathism, etc.).
At the CERDPE practice in Paris 17, our surgeons do everything they can to achieve natural, restrained results through a measured approach and attentive listening to your needs.
Below are the various price ranges that apply in Paris for the main facial surgery procedures:Body-contouring surgery aims to redefine the contours of certain parts of the body in order to harmonise the patient’s anatomy and restore their self-confidence. It can notably be used to remove localised fat as well as unsightly excess skin (most often following significant weight loss after bariatric surgery or a pregnancy).
It is also sometimes intended to add volume to certain parts of the body that lack it and that can be a source of self-consciousness (buttock implants and Brazilian butt lift in particular).
Below are the price ranges for the main body-contouring surgery procedures in Paris:Aesthetic medicine now makes it possible to treat many physical concerns (particularly on the face) without having to resort to invasive surgery. It offers effective, temporary results without social downtime and with minimal recovery time.
Below are the per-session price ranges for the main aesthetic medicine treatments in Paris:
What is included in the price: fees, operating theatre, anaesthesia
These various price lists generally include all the costs relating to the procedure, namely:
- the surgeon’s fees for performing the operative technical act, but also the pre- and post-operative follow-up. The free follow-up consultation is generally valid for one year, in order to ensure perfect healing and to assess whether any touch-ups are needed;
- the anaesthetist’s fees: their presence is mandatory throughout the procedure whenever sedation or a general anaesthetic is required. A preliminary consultation must also take place no later than 48 hours before any surgical procedure;
- the hospitalisation costs, namely the cost of renting the operating theatre, the cost of the room for recovery after the procedure, the related staffing costs, the costs linked to the sterile medical equipment used during the operation and the medication needed before and after the procedure;
- the costs of any necessary medical devices, most often the implants for breast or buttock implants. Abdominal binders or compression garments may be included in the package, but not always (they can give rise to an additional charge depending on the practice).
In addition to these various elements, you will also have to pay for a paid preliminary consultation (or even several) used to define the terms of the procedure. In every case, always ask for a complete personalised quote before giving your agreement.
Insurance and complementary-health-cover reimbursement: what is possible
Plastic surgery is in principle considered a cosmetic procedure aimed at improving one’s appearance and self-esteem. However, certain procedures may give rise to partial (or, in rare cases, total) coverage by the French national health insurance.
Reimbursement by the Caisse Primaire d’Assurance Maladie (CPAM) can only apply when the operation includes a reconstructive element. It may also be justified when it aims to correct a physical anomaly with particularly disabling consequences in daily life for the patient (from both a functional and a psychological point of view).
Among the procedures that can qualify for CPAM coverage are notably:
- breast reduction for a woman whose breasts are too large and cause back pain, mobility problems or psychological distress. The amount of fat removed must be at least 300 grams per breast;
- abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) following significant weight loss that has caused an abdominal apron covering the pubis;
- functional rhinoplasty in the event of breathing difficulties;
- genioplasty when it aims to address a dental occlusion in particular;
- reconstructive procedures after breast cancer (with mastectomy) or an accident;
- certain ALDs (long-term conditions) requiring surgery to remove a tumour (notably maxillofacial surgery) or to address a congenital malformation (cleft lip, tuberous breasts, amastia, breast asymmetry, etc.).
Reimbursement by the national health insurance follows a prior-agreement request made by the surgeon to the CPAM’s medical adviser. An interview between the patient and the medical adviser may be necessary to confirm that the procedure is justified and « reconstructive » in nature. If the CPAM does not respond within 15 days of the surgeon’s request, this generally amounts to tacit agreement.
This coverage does not, however, take into account any fee overruns charged by practitioners. These may nonetheless be covered in full or in part by your complementary health insurance (mutuelle) depending on the guarantees included in your policy.
Don’t hesitate to book an appointment with Dr Hunsinger, Dr Privé and Dr Derhy at the CERDPE practice in the 17th arrondissement of Paris. They can support you with your coverage application if you are eligible.
Surgery abroad: what are the real risks?
Faced with sometimes prohibitive Parisian prices, the temptation is strong for some to consider a procedure abroad in order to benefit from attractive prices. This choice of low-cost medical tourism is not without risks, however, and can even end up being more expensive, with:
- precarious or even non-existent post-operative medical follow-up: in the event of a complication (infection, poor healing), follow-up can only be carried out remotely, which greatly complicates the diagnosis and the implementation of a treatment. Finding another practitioner willing to take on the follow-up of this complication can then be a real ordeal;
- different health standards that are potentially not strict enough, with non-negligible health risks;
- far more difficult legal recourse compared with the reassuring framework that exists in France in the event of a dispute;
- a lack of natural-looking results due to a poor understanding of the patient’s expectations. Dr Hunsinger and Dr Derhy, by contrast, favour communication, listening and education to achieve harmonious results and a natural, French-style look;
- unsatisfactory results, or even a situation worse than before the operation, which may require a further corrective procedure. You will then have to incur new costs far higher than the original procedure. Instead, favour recognised Parisian surgeons registered with the CNOM (national council of the order of physicians) and members of the main reference bodies in the field of plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery (SOFCPRE, SOFCEP, SNCPRE).
FAQ
Is the first plastic surgery consultation chargeable?
Yes, the initial consultation constitutes a complete medical act. It allows us to gather your expectations and to analyse your anatomical features in order to draw up a personalised quote based on a treatment strategy decided together.
Do the prices shown include VAT?
Yes, the prices shown on the Rive Droite Paris Étoile practice website are displayed inclusive of all taxes. The price mentioned is non-contractual and provided for indicative purposes only. The total cost of the procedure will be set after a complete personalised assessment leading to a detailed medical quote.
How do I obtain a quote from the CERDPE in Paris?
You can request an appointment with Dr Hunsinger, Dr Privé or Dr Derhy on the clinic’s contact page by clicking the « Book an appointment online on Doctolib » tab. You can also contact our secretariat by email (at secretariat@rivedroiteparisetoile.com) or by phone on 01 41 31 31 41.
Are post-operative follow-up consultations free?
In most reputable practices, there is a free follow-up consultation (or even several) that is therefore included directly in the overall quote given at the preparatory consultation. It is part of the care protocol designed to optimise the results of the procedure for an optimal, complication-free natural result.
Are plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine procedures reimbursed?
Certain plastic surgery procedures can qualify for partial or total coverage by the French national health insurance, provided they meet a medical necessity (functional rhinoplasty, reconstructive surgery after cancer, breast reduction, etc.). A prior-agreement request must then be made by the surgeon. Aesthetic medicine treatments, on the other hand, are only very rarely reimbursed by the national health insurance, as they are considered cosmetic procedures. Complementary health insurers (mutuelles) can, however, sometimes include certain aesthetic treatments in their guarantees.
