The HydraFacial treatment is a facial that deeply cleanses, exfoliates, extracts impurities and hydrates the skin in a single step, thanks to a patented « Vortex » technology. In about thirty minutes and with no downtime, it tightens the pores, smooths the skin texture and revives the radiance of the complexion, on practically all skin types. 01What is the HydraFacial treatment?

The HydraFacial is a skincare protocol that combines, within the same device, hydradermabrasion and serum infusion. Its patented Vortex technology (developed in the United States) creates a swirl of liquid at the tip of a handpiece: it lifts and suctions impurities while simultaneously delivering hydrating active ingredients. Unlike conventional microdermabrasion, the treatment works « with water »: it stays gentle, painless and downtime-free, which makes it suitable even for sensitive skin.

The serums delivered form a true skin cocktail: hyaluronic acid, antioxidants, copper peptides, extracts of red horse chestnut seed, red algae, zinc and magnesium. This complete treatment targets most complexion concerns:

  • blackheads and comedones, enlarged pores;
  • oily skin, excess sebum, minor blemishes;
  • dull, uneven complexion, lack of radiance;
  • brown spots and hyperpigmentation;
  • early fine lines and wrinkles, dehydrated skin.

02Why have a HydraFacial? The benefits

The value of the HydraFacial is that it brings together, in a single session, what several treatments do separately. From the very first session, it:

  • revives radiance and gives an immediate « healthy glow »;
  • deeply hydrates and plumps the skin;
  • unclogs and tightens the pores, smooths the skin texture;
  • evens out the complexion and softens spots;
  • regulates sebum and soothes oily or congested skin.

It is as much a « special-occasion » treatment (before a wedding, a date or a photo shoot) as a regular maintenance treatment to keep the skin clear. It readily fits in as a complement to a more comprehensive approach, such as a non-surgical facelift or facial mesotherapy.

03Tailored boosters and protocols

Beyond the Signature treatment, the HydraFacial is tailored with boosters — concentrated serums chosen according to your goal: anti-ageing (wrinkles and firmness), anti-dark-spot (hyperpigmentation), anti-blemish (oily skin, acne). On the same day, it can also be combined with a soothing LED session, a chemical peel or microneedling to amplify the result. The exact protocol (treatment alone, with a booster, or a combined treatment) is defined with you after examining your skin.

At the practice, four protocols meet most needs:

  • HydraFacial Signature — the three-step base treatment (cleansing, extraction, hydration), ideal for a burst of radiance and regular maintenance.
  • HydraFacial Anti-dark-spot — enriched with a booster targeting hyperpigmentation and brown spots, to even out the complexion.
  • HydraFacial Anti-ageing — with a peptide/antioxidant booster that targets wrinkles, fine lines and firmness.
  • HydraFacial + microneedling + LED — a complete protocol combining hydradermabrasion with microneedling and LED light therapy, to act on skin texture and quality as well.

04HydraFacial, chemical peel or microneedling: which treatment to choose?

These three aesthetic-medicine treatments are often confused, even though they do not share the same goal:

  • The HydraFacial cleanses, unclogs and deeply hydrates: it is the treatment for radiance and skin texture, with no downtime, on all skin types.
  • The chemical peel uses acids to exfoliate more intensively: it targets spots, acne scars and cell renewal, sometimes with a few days of peeling.
  • Microneedling creates micro-perforations to stimulate collagen: it addresses texture, fine lines and scars (see microneedling).

Far from being mutually exclusive, they complement one another: the HydraFacial prepares and hydrates the skin, while a chemical peel, microneedling, LED or facial mesotherapy deepen a specific correction. The right protocol is decided after examining your skin.

05How often? Results and maintenance

The result is immediate: the skin is softer, brighter and clearer as soon as you leave the session, with no lasting redness. This « burst of radiance » lasts several weeks. To make it last, a treatment is recommended every 4 to 6 weeks (about once a month), possibly preceded by a short intensive course for very congested skin. The HydraFacial is not a « permanent » treatment: it is regular maintenance that keeps the skin texture clear and the complexion fresh.

06HydraFacial: who is it for? Safety and contraindications

The HydraFacial is suitable for practically all skin types, for women and men, at any age, including sensitive skin. It is safe in experienced hands: the only possible side effects are mild redness or slight tingling, which fade within a few hours to a few days.

The treatment is, however, not advised or postponed in cases of:

  • pregnancy or breastfeeding (as a precaution);
  • an active flare-up on the area: inflammatory acne, herpes / cold sore, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, recent sunburn;
  • ongoing isotretinoin treatment (Roaccutane);
  • a known allergy to aspirin, glycolic/salicylic acid or algae.

These points are checked during the prior skin examination, which also helps choose the right serums.

08How the procedure works

01

Before the procedure

The session begins with a skin examination (skin type, skin age, blemishes, goals) that guides the choice of serums and boosters. No heavy preparation is needed: you simply avoid harsh scrubs, chemical peels and intense sun exposure in the days beforehand. The skin is cleansed and make-up removed before starting.

02

During the procedure

The treatment lasts 30 to 60 minutes, is painless (just a sensation of coolness and a gentle massage) and takes place in three steps thanks to the Vortex handpiece:

  • 1. Cleansing & gentle peel — exfoliation of the outer layer, followed by a superficial peel with fruit acids (glycolic and salicylic) to lift dead cells and excess sebum, without tingling.
  • 2. Extraction & hydration — the suction tip unclogs the pores by suction (comedones, blackheads) while infusing hydrating lotions; the reservoir makes the extracted impurities visible.
  • 3. Booster infusion — a final delivery of antioxidant serums, peptides and hyaluronic acid, completed with the booster suited to your skin (anti-ageing, anti-dark-spot, anti-blemish).

Duration 30 to 60 min Anaesthesia None
03

After the procedure

There is no social downtime: you leave with clear, rested skin, and you can wear make-up from the next day (often the same day). Very mild redness may persist for a few hours, no more. In the following days, you protect the skin from the sun (SPF) and keep it hydrated. The result is visible immediately and lasts several weeks; a treatment every 4 to 6 weeks maintains it over time.

10Your questions

What is the price of a HydraFacial treatment in Paris?+

At Rive Droite Paris Étoile, the HydraFacial Signature treatment starts at €180. The price increases with the boosters and add-on treatments (anti-dark-spot, anti-ageing, microneedling, LED). The breakdown is shown in the price table below; a precise quote is drawn up after examining your skin.

How many sessions are needed and how often?+

Results are visible from the very first session. To maintain them, a treatment is recommended every 4 to 6 weeks (about once a month). For very congested skin, a short intensive course of a few closely spaced sessions may be suggested at the start.

How long does a HydraFacial session last?+

Between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on the chosen protocol (treatment alone, with a booster, or a combined treatment). It is a lunch-break treatment: you leave with no downtime.

Is the HydraFacial painful?+

No, it is painless. You feel a sensation of coolness and a gentle massage from the handpiece; at most some slight tingling during the gentle peel.

Is the HydraFacial dangerous? Are there any side effects?+

It is a superficial, safe treatment performed by a professional. The only possible side effects are mild redness or transient tingling, which disappear within a few hours to a few days. There is no downtime.

Which areas can be treated?+

Mainly the face, but also the neck, décolletage, back, hands and even the scalp, depending on your needs.

What are HydraFacial boosters?+

They are concentrated serums added to the treatment to address a specific goal: anti-ageing, anti-brown-spot, anti-blemish. Optional, they make the treatment more complete and fully tailored.

Are all skin types eligible?+

Yes, the HydraFacial adapts to all skin types, including sensitive skin. The serums and boosters are chosen according to the nature of your skin for an effective and comfortable treatment.

How does it differ from a conventional facial cleanse or microneedling?+

A conventional cleanse is limited to unclogging. The HydraFacial adds, in the same step, an exfoliation, an extraction by suction and an infusion of hydrating active ingredients — hence a clearer and longer-lasting result. Microneedling, on the other hand, mainly aims to restructure the skin (wrinkles, scars) and does not share the same goal; the two treatments are complementary, as is the chemical peel.

Can you have a HydraFacial while pregnant?+

As a precaution, it is not advised during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as some active ingredients (fruit acids, serums) have not been evaluated in this context. A simple hydrating treatment may be considered; discuss it at the consultation.

When do you see results and are they long-lasting?+

The complexion is visibly brighter as soon as the session ends. The « burst of radiance » effect lasts several weeks; it is the regularity of the treatments (every 4 to 6 weeks) that establishes a clear skin texture and a fresh complexion over time.
