Learn more →Open to women and men alike, body-contouring surgery brings together the procedures that reshape the contours of the body — abdomen, buttocks, thighs, arms, back — to restore harmonious proportions, without excess. At the Rive Droite Paris Étoile practice, in Paris 17th, Dr Vincent Hunsinger combines fat removal (liposuction), fat transfer (lipofilling) and treatment of excess skin according to the area, in a measured and natural approach.

Learn more →Body-contouring surgery covers all the techniques that reshape the contours of the body: removing a localized fat excess, restoring fullness where it is lacking, or tightening stretched skin. Two principles are combined according to need: liposuction, which suctions away excess fat, and lipofilling, which reinjects that same fat to recreate volume. Added to this, after a pregnancy or significant weight loss, is the treatment of excess skin.
Liposuction remains the reference procedure for erasing the fat deposits that resist exercise and diet (saddlebags, abdomen, hips, knees). The harvested fat can be reinjected into another area through lipofilling to harmoniously recontour the body — the same procedure thus serves both to slim down and to reshape.
When the skin of the abdomen is stretched and the muscles have separated (diastasis), abdominoplasty removes the apron of skin and rebuilds a toned abdominal wall. In patients who are already fit and slim, abdominal etching instead redefines the muscular relief for a sculpted abdomen, through high-precision liposuction.
Buttock reshaping is done according to the desired volume and the patient’s anatomy. The Brazilian butt lift augments and contours the buttocks with the patient’s own fat, without a scar. Buttock implants add volume when the available fat is insufficient, and the buttock lift tightens skin that has loosened after weight loss.
After weight loss or with age, the skin of the limbs can sag. The arm lift and the thigh lift remove the excess skin and fat to give the arms and thighs a firm, natural appearance.
Following major weight loss or bariatric surgery, excess skin often affects several areas at once. The bodylift treats the abdomen, hips, lower back and buttocks in a single procedure, for a body reshaped all the way around.
These procedures are intended for people who are close to their ideal weight and in good general health, bothered by an area that responds to neither diet nor physical activity. It is important to remember: body-contouring surgery is neither a treatment for obesity nor a substitute for weight loss. It corrects localized excesses once the weight is stable. Stopping smoking before and after the procedure is required to support healing. As a safety measure, when a liposuction targets large volumes, the amount of fat suctioned in a single session is deliberately controlled and measured — beyond around five liters of aspiration, enhanced monitoring is required. This caution lies at the heart of a natural approach, without excess.
Everything begins with a consultation with Dr Vincent Hunsinger, in Paris 17th: analysis of the request, clinical examination, explanation of the appropriate technique and a written quote. A legal cooling-off period of fifteen days is observed before any aesthetic procedure. Depending on the procedure, the anesthesia is local, deep local or general, and the procedure takes place on an outpatient basis or with one to two nights in hospital. A preoperative work-up and an anesthesia consultation always precede the operation.
Recovery varies according to the extent of the procedure. Wearing a compression garment is usual for several weeks; transient bruising and swelling are normal. The return to activities ranges from a few days (targeted liposuction) to two or three weeks (abdominoplasty, bodylift). The scars are placed in naturally concealed areas and fade over the months. The result becomes clearer over three to six months and remains lasting as long as the weight is stable.
The cost depends on the procedure, its extent and the chosen technique; it is specified in a personalized quote provided at the consultation, surgeon’s fees included. Most body-contouring procedures are purely aesthetic and remain the patient’s responsibility. Certain reconstructive situations may, however, open up partial coverage from the French national health insurance under precise medical conditions — for example an abdominal apron covering the pubis after significant weight loss, or the repair of a diastasis of the rectus muscles according to the criteria in force. These points are assessed on a case-by-case basis during the consultation.
Liposuction removes a localized fat excess, while lipofilling reinjects fat to restore volume (buttocks, hips, face). The two procedures often use the same fat and complement each other during a single operation to reshape the body.
No. It corrects localized excesses in a person who is close to their ideal weight; it replaces neither a diet, nor physical activity, nor the management of excess weight. The result is all the more stable and natural when the weight is stabilized before the procedure.
The abdomen, hips and waist, thighs, buttocks, arms, knees, back and calves. Depending on the area, liposuction, lipofilling, treatment of excess skin (abdominoplasty, bodylift, arm lift, thigh lift) or implant placement are combined.
Purely aesthetic procedures are not reimbursed. Certain reconstructive procedures may be eligible for partial coverage from the French national health insurance under conditions (for example an abdominal apron after significant weight loss, or a diastasis according to medical criteria). This point is reviewed at the consultation.
It varies according to the procedure and its extent. A detailed quote, fees included, is provided at the consultation at the Rive Droite Paris Étoile practice, after examination.
A compression garment is generally worn for a few weeks. The return to activities ranges from a few days for a targeted liposuction to two or three weeks for an abdominoplasty or a bodylift. Bruising and swelling are transient.
The body slims down gradually as the swelling subsides: the result becomes clearer over three to six months and remains lasting as long as the weight stays stable.
