Augmentation with your own fat: the Brazilian Butt Lift

The Brazilian Butt Lift is the most popular technique: fat harvested by liposuction (belly, waist) is reinjected into the buttocks. It increases volume, adds shape and refines the body contour at the same time, with no scar and a very natural result.

Augmentation with implants

When there is not enough fat available, buttock implants provide stable, long-lasting volume, placed through an incision hidden in the intergluteal crease.

Augmentation without surgery

For a moderate result without an operation, HYAcorp increases buttock volume through an injection of an absorbable gel — a gentle alternative that belongs to aesthetic medicine.

Tightening the skin: the buttock lift

After significant weight loss, the buttock lift removes excess skin and raises the buttocks for a firmer shape.

02Which technique should you choose?

The choice depends on your goal and your body shape: adding volume when there is fat to harvest points towards the BBL; little available fat, towards implants; a light result without surgery, towards HYAcorp; skin laxity, towards a lift. The consultation determines the most suitable indication.

03Procedure, recovery and safety

After a consultation with Dr Vincent Hunsinger, in Paris 17e, and the legal reflection period, the procedure is most often performed under general anaesthesia. Buttock lipofilling follows strict safety rules: fat is injected only into the subcutaneous plane, never into the muscle, which greatly reduces the risks. Recovery often means avoiding sitting directly on the buttocks for a few weeks (a dedicated cushion); wearing a compression garment is usual.

04Results and how long they last

With implants, the result is immediate and stable over time. With lipofilling, part of the reinjected fat is naturally resorbed during the first few months: graft take generally stabilises at around two thirds of the injected volume, which the surgeon anticipates by injecting a little more at the outset. The remaining volume is permanent and natural, as it is your own tissue. The final result is assessed at three to six months, once the swelling has subsided and the fat has stabilised; it lasts over the long term if your weight stays stable. The HYAcorp injection, being absorbable, requires periodic maintenance.
