Non-surgical buttock lift with Lanluma through biostimulation

Lanluma: a non-surgical buttock lift through biostimulation

11 June 2026 Dr Vincent Hunsinger, plastic surgeon

In recent years, buttock augmentation has established itself as one of the most sought-after cosmetic procedures. Alongside surgical techniques (buttock implants) and the now widely adopted natural methods (BBL-type buttock lipofilling), Lanluma technology is increasingly popular among patients who want a more natural, moderate buttock augmentation that is non-invasive and non-surgical.

Lanluma French Butt Lift (LFBL): the new natural technique for non-surgical buttock augmentation

Lanluma (also called the medical buttock lift) works on the principle of biostimulation, through injections of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a natural filler that addresses volume loss and skin laxity. Specifically designed for buttock reshaping, this calcium-phosphate-based molecule delivers a natural stimulation of collagen in the targeted area. The Lanluma injection then restores volume and firmness to the buttock while reshaping its contour in a lasting, non-invasive way.

Poly-L-lactic acid is not new to aesthetic medicine: it has been used since the early 2000s as a collagen inducer, first to restore facial volumes before being applied to body reshaping. Lanluma is available in particular as Lanluma X, the larger-volume vial designed for extensive areas such as the buttocks, which is why it is the preferred choice for this indication.

Who is the medical buttock lift for?

The non-surgical buttock lift is suitable for both men and women. It can be relevant in particular for people who:

  • have flat buttocks;
  • have sagging buttocks;
  • have buttock skin laxity or volume loss, notably due to ageing or weight loss;
  • want to reshape their buttocks to make them rounder;
  • cannot opt for lipofilling to contour their buttocks because they lack body fat (slim patients).

The benefits of the Lanluma French Butt Lift for buttock augmentation

Lanluma technology offers several benefits for a patient who wishes to undergo buttock augmentation:

  • a natural treatment: PLLA is a fully natural molecule and therefore biocompatible and biodegradable. This avoids introducing a foreign body into the organism, as with an implant;
  • progressive yet lasting results: Lanluma injections stimulate the fibroblasts to drive long-term collagen production by triggering a new synthesis of collagen (neocollagenesis). This makes the results far more natural, even and visible over time (up to 2 years or more) than traditional hyaluronic acid injections;
  • a non-invasive procedure: the Lanluma procedure is far less involved than placing buttock implants (no surgery and no sutures required). It therefore greatly limits the risk of complications;
  • harmonious buttocks: in addition to redefining the contours, sculpting the shape and firming the buttocks, buttock augmentation through biostimulation also improves skin quality, notably by reducing the signs of ageing or skin laxity (the appearance of cellulite on the buttocks, stretch marks, slack skin);
  • minimally disruptive recovery: despite slight discomfort in the first few days, the patient can immediately resume their activities, unlike with surgery or a BBL, which require a temporary break from social and professional life.

What is the difference between Lanluma LFBL and the Brazilian butt lift (BBL)?

Even though both procedures aim to increase buttock volume, the procedure and the results differ in several respects:

  • the medical buttock lift with Lanluma is less invasive than the BBL (no surgery, no sutures, no subsequent social downtime);
  • the BBL requires autologous fat transfer surgery via liposuction followed by buttock lipofilling, whereas PLLA is injected directly into the fatty tissue of the buttocks;
  • the results are more moderate and progressive because of the biostimulation, and the increase in buttock volume is generally smaller;
  • the results of the non-surgical buttock lift are limited in time (2 to 3 years), whereas they are permanent with lipofilling.

Lanluma is not the only option for contouring the buttocks without an operating room: HYAcorp hyaluronic acid injections for the buttocks rely on immediate volumising filler, while PLLA biostimulation acts more gradually by stimulating collagen. The choice between these non-surgical buttock lift approaches is decided in consultation, depending on your anatomy and the result you are looking for.

How does a Lanluma French Butt Lift session take place in Paris?

The Lanluma buttock lift in Paris is carried out in several steps:

  • The preliminary assessment: a consultation prior to the procedure takes place with the specialist surgeon, who gathers the patient’s needs. They also analyse the patient’s anatomy to determine a personalised treatment plan (areas to target, volume to inject) based on the patient’s request and their physical characteristics (skin elasticity in particular);
  • Preparing the injection area: on the day of the session, the areas to be treated are cleaned and disinfected to avoid any potential complications. A numbing cream may be applied to anticipate any discomfort;
  • The Lanluma injection: the PLLA molecule is injected into the deep buttock tissue, in the previously identified areas, using a cannula. Throughout the procedure, the filler is distributed evenly over the treatment area to ensure a harmonious, natural result. Performed in the office under local anaesthesia, the session lasts roughly one hour depending on the quantity to be injected;
  • Post-procedure follow-up: despite relatively minor side effects (redness, swelling, bruising, sensitivity of the treated area), the practitioner may prescribe painkillers as well as a compression garment to optimise the buttock reshaping. These possible inconveniences usually fade on their own within a few days. A check-up visit may be scheduled a few days after the procedure. A second session may be necessary in some cases.

Lanluma LFBL in Paris: results, before/after and reviews

Because of the process of collagen regeneration through biostimulation, the results of the non-surgical buttock augmentation are progressive. They begin to be visible about a week after the session but only become truly final after roughly 2 months.
The contours are then redefined and the buttock volume sculpted to achieve a harmonious shape. Thanks to the deep action of PLLA and the collagen-regeneration process, the buttock augmentation is lasting over time and improves firmness at the same time. Results can therefore last for 2 years, and even 3 years for some patients.

It is precisely this gradual nature that explains the reviews most often reported about the Lanluma buttock lift: because the change unfolds over several weeks, those around the patient rarely notice an abrupt transformation, which matches the goal of a « natural » result. In before-and-after photos, the difference is read mainly in the shape and projection of the buttocks rather than in a dramatic volume gain. During the consultation, the surgeon shows cases comparable to your anatomy in order to set realistic expectations: biostimulation firms and redraws, but it does not replace the significant volume that lipofilling or implants would provide.

Lanluma LFBL in Paris: price of a session

The price of a Lanluma session in Paris depends on the number of procedures required and the quantity of poly-L-lactic acid to be injected (number of Lanluma X vials). It can range between 2,000 and 4,000 € per session.

In general, at least 2 sessions are needed to achieve a satisfactory result. Sometimes a 3rd session is preferable to optimise the results. The total budget for a non-surgical buttock lift with Lanluma should therefore be considered at the scale of the complete protocol, not of a single injection. A personalised quote is provided at the end of the consultation, once the number of vials and sessions has been determined according to the desired correction.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Lanluma buttock lift effective?+

Yes, for a moderate, natural enhancement of the shape of the buttocks. Biostimulation with poly-L-lactic acid boosts collagen production and firms the area, which gradually redraws the curve of the buttocks. It does not, however, deliver the significant volume that lipofilling or implants provide: it is a reshaping solution, not a dramatic augmentation. Its effectiveness depends on the starting anatomy, the number of sessions and the quality of the skin.

How long do Lanluma results on the buttocks last?+

The results are visible from the first week and become final after about two months, once neocollagenesis has set in. They then last on average 2 to 3 years depending on the patient, before gradually fading as the poly-L-lactic acid is absorbed by the body. A maintenance session can prolong the result.

What is the price of a Lanluma session in Paris?+

The price of a session is generally between 2,000 and 4,000 €, depending on the quantity of poly-L-lactic acid injected (number of Lanluma X vials). A complete protocol most often includes at least two sessions, sometimes three. The budget should therefore be considered at the scale of the full treatment, and a personalised quote is provided at the end of the consultation.

What is the difference between Lanluma and Sculptra?+

Lanluma and Sculptra are both based on the same active ingredient, poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), and stimulate collagen production. They differ in their formulation and their ranges: Lanluma offers in particular the Lanluma X version, with a larger volume, designed for extensive areas such as the buttocks. The choice of product is up to the practitioner, depending on the indication and the area to be treated.

Are Lanluma injections in the buttocks painful?+

Discomfort remains moderate. The session is performed under local anaesthesia, and a numbing cream may be applied beforehand. The injections into the deep buttock tissue are done with a cannula, which limits the sensations. Slight tenderness, redness or bruising may persist for a few days after the session.

What is recovery like after a non-surgical buttock lift session?+

Recovery is undemanding: there is no scar and no social downtime. Mild redness, swelling, bruising or tenderness of the treated area may appear and generally clear up on their own within a few days. The practitioner may prescribe painkillers and recommend a compression garment. Daily activities can be resumed immediately.

How many Lanluma sessions are needed to contour the buttocks?+

Most often, two sessions spaced a few weeks apart are needed to obtain a satisfactory result; a third is sometimes recommended to optimise the shape. The exact number depends on the desired correction, the volume to be injected and the individual response to biostimulation, and is determined during the consultation.

Lanluma or buttock lipofilling (BBL): which to choose?+

The medical lift with Lanluma is non-surgical, progressive and suited to a moderate improvement of the shape, including in slim people who lack the fat needed for lipofilling. Buttock lipofilling (BBL) provides greater, permanent volume, but requires liposuction and fat-transfer surgery, with a more demanding recovery. The right choice is decided in consultation, based on your anatomy and your expectations.
